Why Choose Silicone Bakeware

There are several advantages to choosing silicone bakeware.  For one thing, they are non-stick, which means they are easier to wash and maintain. They’re also quieter than metal bakeware, so if you drop a silicone dish or knock several of them together, you won’t make a loud crashing sound. It’s also easier to get cakes and cookies off of silicone dishes because the baked good will usually slide right off without much effort.  Silicone dishes are great for baking in the oven or putting in the microwave because they can handle high temperatures. They’re also ideal if you have children helping out  in the kitchen because they don’t break or chip easily.

There are two types of silicone bakeware. The first type is silicone bakeware that is made with a soft material. The other is plates and dishes made from a silicone resin that is much harder and can withstand the abuse of children more easily. The resin items can be dropped, thrown and generally abused but they should not be put inside a hot oven.

Silicone is a manmade material that can last a long time and won’t rust like many metal cooking dishes. Silicone and other rubber products are also much easier to clean than metal dishes. Most only need to be soaked in warm water and scrubbed with soap. If you are after shiny kitchen accessories, then silicone may not work for you. However, these dishes do come in a vast array of colors, so it should always be possible to find a set that matches the look of your kitchen.

Also, silicone dishes keep their integrity for a long time.  That means you won’t need to replace them after a few years of heavy use. You’ll feel comfortable displaying them in your kitchen for as long as you own them.

Why not look for some other useful kitchen tools while you’re at it—a utensil holder, for example?
