Serving Breakfast for a Large Group of Guests
Most often when you have guests over, you have them over for dinner. There are lots of great dinner ideas for large groups such as casseroles. The problem comes when you make that group meal breakfast. You might have family from far away staying with you for the holidays, or you are getting together with people in the morning to work on a project or accommodate weird schedules. Here are some great ideas for serving breakfast for a large group of guests.
First, think of breakfast foods that taste good and can easily be multiplied. If you know how to make pancakes, that recipe can easily be whipped up againĀ and again for as long you need more pancakes. All you need to do is find a good pancake recipe and then make a couple batches. The ingredients are very basic including flour, eggs, milk, etc. Have plenty of ingredients ready on the side just in case you need to make another batch or two or three. Make it more tasty and exciting by letting guests personalize their pancakes. Have chopped fruit, chocolate chips, and nuts on the side. They can add whatever they want to the batter. Have syrup, butter, fruit, whipped cream, and other toppings for the pancakes available.
If this is too much work for you, try a breakfast casserole. Farmer’s strata is a great breakfast casserole that you can make plenty of. It requires mostly eggs, bread, and cheese, but can be made up to your liking. French toast cake is another great idea. It is the great taste of French toast made into a cake/loaf that can be cut up and served. You don’t need to be standing there making French toast all morning.
For the simplest of breakfasts, you can always go with bagels and hard rolls. Everyone can make their own breakfast this way. If you don’t mind a little cooking, add some sausage and scrambled eggs for savory flavor and added protein.
