Electric Vacuum Coffee Makers

Electric vacuum coffee makers usually have two glass containers that sit on top of each other with a tube running between them. Water is placed in the lower container. This water should be clean and fresh. Generally, the water should be spring water or, at the minimum, filtered tap water.

The coffee goes into the top container. This coffee can be pre-ground coffee, or whole bean coffee can be ground for use. Then the unit is assembled. Next, the heat source is switched on. Electric vacuum coffee makers have a built-in heat source resembling an electric hot plate. Other types can be placed on a stove top, or have a small oil lamp to heat the lower container.

As the water heats in the lower container, it forces the water into the upper container, where it mixes with the ground coffee, and the beverage brews. After most of the water has traveled into the upper container, the heat source is removed. Then the water travels back into the lower container. Now the user can pour the coffee into his or her mug.

So, with all this work involved, why is this type of coffee maker so popular? Well, in vacuum coffee maker reviews people often say that it provides an excellent cup of coffee. It seems to remove some of the harshness and bitterness from some types of coffee beans. Also, people say that being intimately involved in the brewing process is an exciting part of the enjoyment of the coffee. It helps to increase the anticipation of enjoying that hot cup of coffee.

However, this type of unit is not very well suited to an office, where bean to cup coffee commercial machines would be a better choice. The bean to cup coffee machine provides an automatic brewing cycle for a cup of coffee. It would be a bit awkward to use the vacuum coffee pot in an office setting.
