Avoiding a Kitchen Nightmare
On the TV show ‘Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares’, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay tours failing restaurants and attempts to bring them back up to scratch and making money again. The show makes full use of Ramsay’s forceful style and encyclopaedic knowledge of the catering industry to turn restaurants around. Without Chef Ramsay on hand to mentor them, what chance do restaurateurs have of turning things around in their restaurant? Especially in difficult economic circumstances? Naturally, having a character such as Ramsay with all his experience helps, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of things that can be done to improve restaurants with problems, or to stop those problems developing in the first place.
