Baking With Kids

You do not have to be amazing or talented or grown up to bake.  As long as you have the right baking tins, recipes, ingredients and a sprinkling of patience then you are on to a good thing.  Even kids can help with baking.  Kids are great and they love working away in the kitchen making a mess with the dream of cakes at the other side.  So what can we do with kids in the kitchen?

Kids Baking Tins

Dinosaur Cake Pan Pictures, Images and PhotosThere is an abundance of different baking tins in different shapes and sizes.  One of the more interesting baking pans is a tray with a number of different animals on them like elephants, lions, monkeys and hippos. The tray is intended for muffins but with a bit of imagination you can make animal-shaped Jell-O as well.

As a nice starting set for kids, there is a lovely three-piece children’s starter set containing a heart-shaped cake pan, a loaf pan, and a teddy bear shaped tin.  There are so many different shapes to suit all tastes such as policemen, firemen, dancers, bunnies, numbers, cars and many more novelty cake pans.

Baking Games

There are games that instead of using a book to learn to make something you can click on the ingredients as you go along. A lot of these recipes are real and not only that, they try to teach kids to be safe in the kitchen as well. These games on the Internet will encourage the child to click on ingredients and put them in bowls or in the oven for cooking.

You can make a load of cupcakes for example, provide the children with icing, frosting, small sprinklings and sweets, and then encourage them through competition to make the best decorated cake.

It is great to guide children into making delicious cakes in the kitchen. It gives them a sense of pride and achievement which then leads to happy parents. Let them make their own food and drink and imagine how happy your kids will be taking the first bite of their first cake they made themselves.
