A Simple Vegan Tofu Recipe

Being a vegan means that one has to refrain from eating and using anything that has animal content in it. Anything that was manufactured in a process that harms animals is rejected by the principle of veganism. That means rejecting a great part of the normal human diet as well as some of the normal things that we use in everyday life like clothes made from animals and leather products. To some that would be unthinkable, but to those who hold true to what they believe in it is not only the right way, it is the only way for humans to behave. Respecting animals is just the first part of respecting ourselves.

That does not mean that a vegan’s life has to be one dreary and boring stretch of existence. Being vegetarian can be lots of fun if we only look at it in a different light. If you think that refraining from eating any meat takes out the best and most fun part of our diet, then think again. Here’s a simple vegan dish that you can try that’s tasty and delicious and very healthy at the same time.

Tofu is one of most versatile food ever. It has been in existence for centuries and has been used as a meat substitute for as long as there has been people who refused to eat meat. There are various ways of preparing Tofu but the favorite method is to deep fry it to give it a certain meat like texture. Here is an alternative to that: All you need is some Tofu, a little soy sauce , and a cup of cooking oil. Slice the tofu into thin strips. Then pour the oil on a preheated pan. Do not use too much oil, just enough to cover the whole surface of the pan. Put in the tofu slices and let it fry. Turn it over once one side is done. When both sides are crispy brown then pour in two teaspoonful of soy sauce. Stir it for minute or two but after that your tofu should have taken on an amazing flavor.
